News Releases
The University Marketing and Communcations Office will send notice of each student's graduation, degrees, majors, and honors to his or her hometown or community newspaper. The newspaper(s) selected are those identified by the student to the Registrar's Office or are selected by the zip code of the student's home town listed with the Registrar's Office.

NWU will send hometown news releases approximately two weeks after graduation. Please note that while a release is sent by the University, there is no guarantee that it will be printed. The decision to print a graduation notice is made by the editor of each newspaper.

Professional Photographs
Professional photographs will be taken by Chappell Graduation Images throughout Commencement day.

  • At the Hooding ceremony, the photographer will photograph each graduate as she/he receives a hood. The Masters class photograph will be taken on the front steps of the First United Methodist Church following the Hooding ceremony.
  • After the Baccalaureate service, the all-class picture will be taken on the front steps of First United Methodist Church.
  • At the Commencement ceremony, the photographer will photograph each graduate as she/he receives a diploma from President Ohles.

These photos are taken without obligation and the purchase of these photographs is optional. Family and friends can register online to recieve notification when these free proofs are available to view. Picture order information will be provided to each graduate as she/he leaves the stage.
