Background: 

I was born in Minneapolis but spent much of my youth in Chadron, Nebraska. I am one of eight children and blessed to have shared the womb and workplace with my sister, Mary. Mary is a development officer at NWU.

Education: 

Ph.D.: Communication Studies, University of Nebraska
MA: Management, Doane College
BA: Business Administration, Chadron State College

Teaching philosophy: 

I believe in the value of creating an invitational classroom. Students and the instructor shape the learning environment and have a responsibility to "listen so others may speak and speak so others may listen" (Littlejohn).
