Feministing.com Editor to Discredit Myths, Stereotypes at NWU Lecture

An impassioned women’s rights activist and author will discredit the myths and stereotypes of feminism at an upcoming Nebraska Wesleyan University Forum lecture.

 Jessica Valenti, founder and executive editor of the popular website Feministing.com will present, “Feminism: Alive & Well?” on Thursday, March 4 in Olin B Lecture Hall on the Nebraska Wesleyan University campus.

Valenti is the author of Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman’s Guide to Why Feminism Matters, which covers a range of topics including pop culture, health, reproductive rights, education and relationships. She is also the author of He’s A Stud, She’s A Slut…and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know.

Valenti holds a master’s degree in women and gender studies and has a long record of working with national and international women’s organizations.

Her lecture begins at 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow.
