"Recycled Percussion" to Headline Wesleyan's Annual Big Event
A percussion group who last fall awed the fans and judges of the hit NBC Show “America’s Got Talent” will perform at Nebraska Wesleyan University’s annual Big Event on Friday, March 5.
Recycled Percussion won third place on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2009. The group delivers a memorable performance, led by Justin Spencer, the world’s “fastest extreme drummer,” whose beats compliment “DJ Pharaoh’s” hip-hop funk jams. Their high energy, captivating beats are created on their trash kits of plastic buckets, ladders, mortar casings, and huge 50-gallon containers.
The four-person group of two drummers, a DJ, and an electric guitarist deliver a performance worthy of nominations for “Best Music Group,” “Best Major Performance,” and “Entertainer of the Year” by Campus Activities Magazine. They are currently starring in America’s Got Talent Live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Their March 5 show will begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium, located at 50th Street and Huntington Ave. The show will last one hour. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for other college students. Tickets are available March 1-5 and can be reserved by calling 465.2412. Minors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is sponsored by the Wesleyan Entertainment Board.
