The International Relations Organization (IRO) will celebrate the life of former NWU student Nick Lee with a tree planting, games and other activities.

An October Glory Maple tree will be planted at 12:30 p.m. on the east side of the student center. From 1 to 3:30 p.m., eight teams will compete in athletic and academic contests. The competition will be held at the Weary Center. Faculty, staff and alumni who wish to compete on a team are to contact Yoko Iwasaki-Zink.

The Nick Lee Commemorative Social/World Games Award Ceremony and social night for students will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at an off-campus location. Buses will transport students from the Weary Center beginning at 8:30 p.m. Students will be bussed back to campus between 12:30-1 a.m. Faculty, staff and alumni who wish to attend are to contact Iwasaki-Zink. The evening will include music by the faculty/staff band Release Time.

Lee was a 2011 graduate of NWU. He died in a car accident in August 2011.
