The Women's Resource Center will sponsor "Love Is Irrational; Why We Love and Loath Twilight" on Tuesday, January 24.

Speakers Nikki Stafford, author of several television companion guides, and Dr. Tanya R. Cochran, associate professor of English at Union College, will discuss the Twilight series books and movies phenomenon. They will discuss the underlying messages and issues of healthy relationships and the Twilight fan culture.

Stafford has authored companion guides for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, Xena and most recently, the five-volume Finding Lost series. She has appeared on TV, radio, and in print as a pop culture pundit.

Cochran teaches first-year writing, the rhetoric of popular culture, and research methods. She serves on several editorial boards and has authored numerous publications on pop culture.

The event begins at 7 p.m. in Callen Conference Center, located on the lower level of Smith-Curtis Administration Building.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
