Nebraska Wesleyan University will host its eighth annual award-winning step show competition on Saturday, November 19.
This year’s step show theme is “A Step Back Into The Past: Honoring the Historical Traditions of African American and Latino Fraternities and Sororities.” The show will feature college and high school step teams who will compete for over $2,000 in cash prizes.
Comedian Drew Thomas of “Last Comic Standing” will emcee the event; NWU alum Spencer Munson will be the evening’s D.J. Nebraska Wesleyan’s hip hop dance and step team, X-Clusive, will perform an exhibition routine as a tribute to those who brought stepping to the mainland from Africa.
The competition begins at 7 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium, located at 50th Street and Huntington Ave. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
General admission is $10 for adults, $7 for Greek members who wear Greek apparel, and $5 for children under 12 years. Tickets will be available at the door.
