Looking for an activity to get you in the holiday spirit? Nebraska Wesleyan has a lot to choose from.
Festivities begin on Saturday, December 7 with the 21st annual Elizabethan Feast at 6 p.m. in Great Hall of the Smith-Curtis Administration building. Participants will travel back into the 16th century with a four-course meal and entertainment provided by the Chamber Singers, Recorder Consort, Herald Trumpets, and the Theatre Players. Tickets are $17 and need to be purchased in advance by calling 402.465.2269.
Ebenezer Scrooge comes to life in Nebraska Wesleyan’s traditional holiday production, “A Christmas Carol.” The Dickens classic returns with a whole new look and added holiday magic in McDonald Theatre. The play continues December 6-7 and December 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee shows will be held on December 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 adults, $7.50 seniors, and $5 students. Vocal ensembles share holiday music with a concert on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium. This free event features a variety of holiday songs, including “Deck the Halls” and “Sing We All Noel” performed by Nebraska Wesleyan’s Women’s Choir, Men’s Glee, and Jazz Choir. The concert will also include audience sing-alongs of several familiar carols.
A weekend holiday-themed cabaret will be performed by Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Theatre Department on Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 14 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m. This cabaret will feature classic Christmas music and sing-along songs. General admission tickets are $5, or $10 for a reserved-seating with appetizers option for the Saturday night performance. All performances will be held in the Studio Theatre. A Christmas Choral Concert wraps up the holiday events on Sunday, December 15 at 3 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium. The University Choir will perform seasonal hymns and holiday favorites. This free concert is held in conjunction with Lincoln Choral Artists.
