Student organizations at Nebraska Wesleyan University are planning several family-friendly Halloween activities.
On Wednesday, October 26, Willard Sorority and Omega Alpha Chi Fraternity will host “Halloween for Huntington.” The fundraiser will benefit the Huntington Christmas Program, which provides low-cost holiday shopping opportunities to families of Huntington Elementary School students. The elementary school is located in the NWU neighborhood.
Halloween for Huntington will include pumpkin painting, games, and a haunted house. Fall foods will also be served. The event will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Willard Sorority parking lot at 5110 Madison Ave. Cost is $5.
On Sunday, October 30, Nebraska Wesleyan’s Entertainment Board (WEB) will host its annual free Halloween festival from 3 to 5 p.m. The event will be held in Prairie Wolf suites A&B, located in the lower level of the Story Student Center. Activities will include games and prizes and trick-or-treating at the residence halls.
Children are encouraged to wear costumes to both events.
Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Costume Library is offering Halloween specials on costume rentals. Tap one of the region’s largest theatre costume libraries and make your costume this year something truly remarkable.
NWU students, faculty and staff can rent a basic costume for just $20. Add accessories for just $5 per item.
Those without NWU IDs can rent basic costumes for $30 and add accessories for $5 apiece.
Rentals are available weekdays, October 19-31, 3:30-5:30 p.m. The Costume Library is located in the Elder Memorial Speech and Theatre Center at 51st and Huntington Ave.
