Homecoming Activities: Vote for King & Queen, Lip Synch Contest, Golf Cart Parade and More

Homecoming 2011 kicks off Wednesday with a wide array of activities planned throughout the week and weekend.

Voting for the homecoming king and queen has already begun and will continue until 8 a.m. on Wednesday. To vote, go to:

This year's homecoming queen candidates are: Sarah Hotovy, Samantha Peters, Sydney Rees, and Sarah Wellman. Homecoming king candidates are James Anderson, Kyle Rohrich, Collin Shepherd, and Alex Ulmer.

Homecoming activities begin Wednesday night with the Lip Sync contest, beginning at 7 p.m. Eight teams will perform a variety of music ranging from Lady Gaga to Bon Jovi. The homecoming king and queen will also be crowned during the contest.

On Thursday, September 22, students can enjoy a Scratch Track concert, followed by a pep rally at 9 p.m.

  • NWU Spirit Day, wear your school colors!

Saturday, September 24

  • 7:30 a.m. — 5K Fun Run
  • 10:45 a.m. — Golf Cart Parade
  • 11 a.m. — Ernie’s in Ceresco Tailgate Party
  • 1 p.m. — Football game vs. Doane College
  • 6 p.m. — Women’s Soccer

Sunday, September 25

  • 1 p.m. — Men’s Soccer
  • 5 p.m. — Pops Concert, O'Donnell Auditorium

The Theatre Department will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with shows scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Reserve your free ticket by calling the theatre box office at 402.465.2384.
