Nominations are needed for the Exemplary Teacher Award, which is sponsored by the Division of Higher Education of the Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church.
Recipients receive a certificate and a grant in the amount of $500.
Exemplary Teacher nominations may be submitted by any faculty member. Nominating letters may be accompanied by appropriate supporting materials. Normally, the nominees are full-time faculty members but long-term part-time faculty members may be considered.
The following criteria are to be considered:
excellence in teaching
civility and concern for students and colleagues
commitment to value-centered education
service to students, the institution, the community, or church
Nominations should be submitted to the provost who works with the Faculty Development Committee to make a recommendation to the president for final selection.
Nomination deadline is Thursday, September 15.
