Tips For Avoiding the Flu

With the spring semester underway, now is a good time to remind you that prevention is your best defense against influenza.

  • Vaccination is the best protection. It is not too late to get a flu shot.
  • Use good hygiene: wash your hands. Cover your mouth when you cough.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

If you do experience flu-like symptoms, please visit Student Health. They can assess your symptoms and provide you with a flu kit. It is suggested that you do not attend class or campus activities if you have the flu. Please email your professor if you are ill to inform him/her of your absence.

The maintenance staff is taking diligent efforts to clean and sanitize common areas and surfaces around campus. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes and spray have been distributed throughout our buildings. You are encouraged to keep your personal spaces cleaned and sanitized as well to avoid spreading germs with friends and roommates.

Thanks for all you're doing to keep our campus community healthy.
