Two Sororities Plan Fundraisers for Friendship Home and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
Two Nebraska Wesleyan sororities are each planning fundraisers: one to benefit the Friendship Home and another to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
On Friday, April 1, Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority will hold "Fools For Friendship Home." The event will be held at Skate Zone, located at 300 N. 48th Street in Lincoln. Admission to skate is $5 for quad skates. Part of the proceeds from the admission fee will benefit the Friendship Home, a transitional home for women. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the evening with proceeds also going to the Friendship Home.
Delta Zeta Sorority will hold at 5K race on Saturday, April 2 at Holmes Lake with proceeds going to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The network is made up of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients, and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
Registration forms are available from any Delta Zeta Sorority member or at Lincoln Running Company and Scheels. The registration cost is $10. T-shirts will be awarded to the top five males and females.
The race has a special meaning to Delta Zeta Sorority members who are helping one of their members cope with the recent loss of her grandmother to pancreatic cancer. The student's mother is also battling the disease.
