Jazz Choir Prepares For Three-State Tour

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s jazz choir will kick off a three-state spring break tour on Sunday, March 20.

The spring break tour will include stops in Waverly and Falls City in Nebraska, Lee’s Summit and Kansas City in Missouri, and Prairie Village and Shawnee Mission in Kansas.

The concert will include kid-friendly and senior citizen-friendly music with something for everyone in between. The jazz choir will perform spirituals, folksongs including “Home On The Range,” “I’ve Been Working On The Railroad,” and “Alice in Wonderland.” The choir will premier a new setting of the “Jabberwocky” poem, and will close with the theme to “Mission Impossible.”

The concert tour schedule includes:

  • Sunday, March 20 — 3 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 14410 Folkestone St., Waverly; free-will offering.
  • Monday, March 21 — 7:30 p.m., Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, 114 SE Douglas, free-will offering.
  • Tuesday, March 22 — 7:30 p.m., Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Road, free-will offering.
  • Wednesday, March 23 — 7 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 1700 Harlan, Falls City, free-will offering.
