We have visited with many of you and considered the challenges of making all of our events successful as well as efficient. It appears that we will be able to achieve our objectives by making a few changes to our current process, including:
- We are adding a small number of tables and chairs to our inventory in key buildings so that we can accommodate most events with the exception of those such as Commencement. This will save the cost of rentals and also allow us to have tables and chairs in locations convenient to set up.
- The maintenance team is developing a mobile system for transporting podiums so that we will be able to get those podiums and equipment efficiently to required locations using primarily the maintenance and custodial teams.
- We would like to have all events for each semester on the calendar as early as possible. Your continued use of the maintenance request process will help in that process. We are happy to meet with anyone to help in their event planning so please contact us if necessary.
