| Consolidated Billing Statement |
Your student account billing statement which is generated prior to
beginning of each semester. The University features a consolidated
billing system which bills student for a wide variety of departments all
in one statement. The bill is located online at the student's WebAdvisor
account. |
| E-mail Notification |
Each month that a bill is generated on your account an email will be
sent to the email address provided to notify the student of the bill.
The bill can be reviewed on WebAdvisor. A paper copy will not be sent. A
bill is not generated unless there is activity or a balance on the
account. Even if you have scholarships and/or financial aid, you should
ALWAYS review your bill. |
| Estimated Financial Aid |
This is only an estimated figure of your financial aid package. This
is displayed on your Estimated Bill to assist you in your budgeting for
the future due date. It has not been credited to your account. |
| FACTS Payment Plan |
See "Payment Plan". |
| Form 1098-T Tuition Payments Statement |
IRS tax form related to the Hope and Lifetime Learning Tax Credits.
The University generates one combined form for all charges and credits.
Per the IRS Form Instructions, "You, or the person who may claim you as
a dependent, may be able to take either the tuition and fees deduction
or claim an education credit on Form 1040 or 1040A for the qualified
tuition and related expenses that were actually paid." |
| Holds |
A hold is a sanction placed on the account of a student who is
delinquent. A hold will prohibit the release of transcripts and diplomas
and prohibit future enrollment (including adds and section changes)
until the account is brought current. |
| Hope/Lifetime Tax Credits |
Created as part of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997, these credits
may be available to you as reductions of your tax liability. The credits
are claimed on your tax return, or the return of the taxpayer that
claims you. Form 8863 must be completed to claim the credit. Publication
970 "Tax Benefits for Education" will aid in preparing your return. |
| Late Payment Fee |
If payment of the "Amount due" is not received by the schedule due
date, as communicated on the student's Consolidated Billing Statement, a
$40.00 late payment fee will apply. If the "Amount due" is paid on or
before the scheduled due date, as it appears on the student's Monthly
Consolidated Billing Statement, no late fees will apply. |
| Payment Plan |
A payment option available in which the student determines the
amount they want to budget for an upcoming term and is then set up for
automatic payments in order to help spread out payments throughout the
year. There is an enrollment fee for the plan. It is a prepayment plan
-not a loan. |
| Refund |
When a student account has a credit balance where payments and
credits exceed total charges due, a refund of these excess proceeds will
generally be processed and the excess returned to you by check. This is
an automatic process. No action is required by the student. The refund
can be received through direct deposit to your bank account. We
encourage students to enroll for this option on WebAdvisor. |
