About the Mail Center

Located on the lower level of the Smith-Curtis building, the Mail Center sorts, process and distributes all the mail and packages for the entire campus. A postage stamp machine, that sells first-calls stamps, is located next to the Mail Center window. The Mail Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, except holidays.

Services

The Nebraska Wesleyan Mail center provides:

Processing of all incoming and out going University mail
Shipping and receiving
Express services
Bulk mail processing
Campus mail boxes for full-time students
On campus mail distribution
On-Campus Mail

To ensure the timely delivery of on-campus mail, proper addressing is critical. Campus envelopes, regular envelopes and self-mailers are acceptable for this type of mail. The name and department of both the sender and recipient need to be clearly marked. If addressed to a student the SMB# must be included.

Metering of Outgoing Mail

Mail metering is for official university mail ONLY! The University does not provide postage for personal mail. The appropriate processing form ("Outgoing Mail-gold or "Special Outgoing Mail-blue) showing the account name, number and bar code must be attached to the mail piece or bundle. Mail will not be processed without this information. Your department support staff can provide the necessary forms. All outgoing mail requiring postage needs to be at the Mail Center no later than 2:30 p.m. to ensure same day processing. Large quantities of outgoing envelopes may be left unsealed. However, they need to be fanned with the flaps up. Flats (anything larger than letter size) need to be sealed before bringing them to the Mail Center for processing. The Mail Center will answer all questions regarding the suitability of any mail piece.

Separation of Outgoing Mail

It is essential that all mail be separated by the originating department into the following categories and deposited in the appropriate slots for processing:

On campus mail
Domestic mail (gold form)
International mail (blue form)
Pre-Stamped mail

Addressing

Proper addressing of outgoing mail speeds its delivery. All members of the Nebraska Wesleyan community are encouraged to:

Include department name in return address
Use two-letter state abbreviations
Use Zip+4 (when available)
Type the mailing address
