Theta Chi Fraternity

Theta Chi is one of the oldest men’s college fraternities in North America. Founded in 1856, more than 200,000 members have enjoyed the Fraternity’s traditions, ideals, and fellowship.

Theta Chi was originally founded on April 10, 1856 at Norwich University in Norwich, Vermont. The Gamma Phi Chapter of Theta Chi was originally established at Nebraska Wesleyan in 1889 when it began as a local secret society known as the Dialectics. In 1917, the Dialectics transitioned into a local fraternity known as Delta Omega Phi. On April 30, 1949 the Dialectics officially merged with Theta Chi Fraternity and became installed as the Gamma Phi Chapter.
