nwu to perform comedy stage door
LINCOLN, Neb. —Nebraska Wesleyan will stage a 1936 traditional comedy about a group of women in search of stardom.
Stage Door — a comedy by George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber — tells the story of a group of women who go to New York to pursue careers on the stage. Mrs. Orcutt's boarding house is where the hopes and ambitions of 16 young women are revealed in scenes of entertaining comedy. While one woman gives up in despair, one gets married, and another goes into film, rich society beauty Terry Randall is determined to break into the Broadway theatre scene.
Performances will be held October 1-3 and October 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee shows will be held October 4th and 11th at 2 p.m. All shows will be held in McDonald Theatre, 51st Street and Huntington Ave. Admission is $10 for adults, $7.50 for students 12-18 years and senior citizens, $5 for children under 12 years.
