touch of class jazz choir plans spring tour
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Wesleyan University Touch of Class Jazz Choir will make stops in Colorado and Nebraska during its annual spring tour.
The tour will begin Wednesday, April 23 and will include four days of concerts in Centennial, Colorado; Greeley, Colorado; Imperial, and North Platte. The concert program will include the Gospel Mass sung in a gospel and jazz style, “License to Scat,” “The Jazz Farm,” a novelty based on the song, “Old McDonald Had A Farm,” Paul Simon’s “Love Me Like a Rock,” and Barry Manilow’s “Lay Me Down” and “Copacabana.”
The Touch of Class Jazz Choir is an 18-piece ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists and is under the direction of Boyd Bacon.
The following is the ensemble’s tour schedule:
Wednesday, April 23
7:30 p.m., Smoky Hill United Methodist Church, 19491 East Smoky Hill Road, Centennial, Colo. Free-will offering
Thursday, April 24
Attendance at jazz festival, University of Northern Colorado
Friday, April 25
7:30 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 420 Holland East 5th Street, Imperial; Free-will offering
Saturday, April 26
7 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 1600 West E. Street, North Platte; Free-will offering
