Author to speak about reflections on creative nonfiction
LINCOLN, Neb. — An author and professor at St. Mary’s College will present Nebraska Wesleyan University’s annual Holder Lecture.
Jeffrey Hammond, the George B. and Willma Reeves Distinguished Professor in the Liberal Arts and Professor of English at St. Mary’s College, will speak Wednesday, April 23 at 3 p.m. in Callen Conference Center, located in the lower level of the Smith-Curtis Administration Building. His lecture is titled, “Hugging the Shore: Reflections on Creative Nonfiction.”
Hammond has published three books in his scholarly field of early American literature, most recently, The American Puritan Elegy: A Literary and Cultural Study. His book on growing up in a small Midwestern town, Ohio States: A Twentieth-Century Midwestern, was a finalist for an Independent Publisher Book Award.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
