political communication expert to discuss presidential debates at nwu lecture
LINCOLN, Neb. — A political and gender communication expert who has conducted studies on the benefits of presidential debates will speak at Nebraska Wesleyan University on Friday, April 18.
Diana Carlin, Professor of Communication and Dean of Graduate and International Programs at the University of Kansas, will present a lecture titled “The Past & Future of U.S. Presidential Debates.” The lecture will be held in McDonald Auditorium, located at 51st Street and Huntington Ave. It begins at 10 a.m.
Carlin is the director of a national research project on presidential debates called Debate Watch. She currently serves on the advisory board for the Commission on Presidential Debates. Currently, Carlin is Dean-in-Residence at the Council of Graduate Schools in Washington, D.C.
Her lecture is free and open to the public.
