boston theological institute director to speak on religion and conflict transformation
LINCOLN, Neb. — The executive director for the Boston Theological Institute will discuss religion and conflict at an upcoming Nebraska Wesleyan University lecture.
Rodney L. Petersen will present NWU’s annual Swan Lecture titled, “Christianity and Conflict Transformation,” scheduled for Thursday, April 3 at 1 p.m. in Callen Conference Center.
Petersen has been Executive Director of the Boston Theological Institute since moving to the Boston area from Switzerland in 1990. In addition to his work with the institute, he teaches in both the member schools and overseas. He teaches in the areas of history and ethics, currently focusing on issues of religion and conflict. Together with his colleagues, these courses have taken students to various regions of the world in order to understand and film ways in which faith communities are implicated in regional violence and how they can be avenues of reconciliation.
His presentation is free and open to the public. Callen Conference Center is located in the lower level of the Smith-Curtis Administration Building, one block east of 50th Street and St. Paul Ave.
