nebraska wesleyan stages comedic operetta die fledermaus
LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Department of Music will present the three-act comedic opera, Die Fledermaus.
Die Fledermaus — whose titled translates to “the bat” — was composed by Johann Strauss. The story follows friends Gabriel Eisenstein and Dr. Falke who enjoy playing practical jokes on one another while attending lavish parties. Its time for Dr. Falke to take revenge, which includes a plot entailing mistaken identities, adultery, inebriation and imprisonment.
