wesleyan student selected for prominant poet institute
LINCOLN, Neb. —A Nebraska Wesleyan University student has been selected as one of 10 undergraduate students in the nation to attend the Bucknell Institute for Younger Poets.
Chelsea Dappen, a junior English major from Scottsbluff, has been selected for this prestigious institute, which runs June 8-29 at Bucknell University. This institute provides an extended opportunity for undergraduate poets to write and be guided by established poets. Poets will conduct writing workshops, offer lectures and discussions, and present readings of their own works. Dappen’s fellowship will pay her tuition and expenses.
Dappen is an editorial assistant for Octopus Magazine and Books and serves on the editorial board of The Flintlock, Nebraska Wesleyan University’s undergraduate creative writing magazine. Dappen has had two stories and a poem selected for publication in The Flintlock.
