international economist to share success strategies at wesleyan lecture

LINCOLN, Neb. —An international economist will discuss successful development at an upcoming lecture at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Stephan Thurman, International Macroeconomist for the Economic Policy and Public Diplomacy Office of the U.S. Department of State, will present a lecture, “Total Economic Engagement: The Strategy to Promote Successful Development,” on Thursday, September 27 at 1 p.m. in Olin B lecture hall. Olin B lecture hall is located in the Olin Hall of Science, located one block east of 50th Street and St. Paul Ave. in Lincoln.

In his current position, Thurman analyzes economic situations and trends in international trade and finance for the Economic, Energy and Business Bureau of the U.S. Department of State. His analogies are used to assist in the formulation of U.S. international economic policy.

Thurman’s previous experience includes Deputy Chief Economist and Head of Domestic and International Forecasting for the United States Chamber of Commerce; Director of International Trade for Standard and Poor’s DRI; and Principal Analyst in the Economics Department of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, France.
