new students kick off academic year with 13th annual lend-a-hand to lincoln project
LINCOLN, Neb. —First year students at Nebraska Wesleyan are about to get to know their new home away from home a little better.
On August 25, more than 440 new students will join faculty and staff and give a helping hand to 36 service agencies in Lincoln during the 13th annual “Lend-A-Hand to Lincoln” event. The volunteer projects vary from painting walls to pulling weeds to entertaining the elderly.
The Wesleyan tradition not only introduces new students to service learning in their new community, but also helps them get to know the faculty and staff.
Lend-A-Hand to Lincoln will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. |
