wesleyan's athletic training education program
receives accreditation
LINCOLN, Neb. —Nebraska
Wesleyan University has received accreditation for its athletic
training education program, making it one of only four schools in
Nebraska to offer the program.
Nebraska Wesleyan received the accreditation from
the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
(CAAHEP) on October 20.
Without CAAHEP’s blessing, Nebraska Wesleyan’s
athletic training education program could have been dropped. Twenty-three
students have declared an athletic training education major, which
includes 62 academic credit hours and 800 hours of clinical experience.
The accreditation allows students to take the national board certification
exam as an undergraduate.
Nebraska Wesleyan joins Creighton, University of
Nebraska-Kearney, and University of Nebraska-Omaha in offering the
accredited program.
