WESLEYAN STUDENT awarded undergraduate fellowship

LINCOLN, Neb. — A Nebraska Wesleyan University student has been selected as one of 70 undergraduate fellows by the Fund for Theological Education (FTE).

On Tuesday, October 14, Tyler Wilterding of Lincoln was named an undergraduate fellow to assist with a career in ministry. To qualify, undergraduate fellows must hold a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and demonstrate gifts for leadership and strong Christian faith.

Each recipient receives a monetary award to be used for educational expenses or for a special project to explore ministry. FTE also provides a stipend for a mentoring project to further investigate ministry in partnership with a professor, pastor or other guiding adult.

FTE has awarded some 5,000 fellowships since 1954. Wilterding is the only Nebraska student to receive the honor.
