to assist student emergencies
LINCOLN, Neb. — Students who experience an
emergency during their time at Nebraska Wesleyan University may
be able to turn to some additional financial help thanks to a special
gift the university recently received.
Members of the National Automobile Dealers Association
visited Nebraska Wesleyan on October 8 and presented a $7,000 check
to assist students who face emergencies such as the loss of a parent.
E.N. and Merlene Roe, owners of Roe Buick-Oldsmobile-Pontiac, Inc.
in Grand Island, presented the gift to Nebraska Wesleyan President
Jeanie Watson. E.N. Roe is the National Automobile Dealers Association
director for Nebraska.
The donation is presented each year to a private
independent college or university in each of the four National Automobile
Dealers Association regions in the United States. The association
developed the gift in memory of Joe Sanchez, the late vice president/general
manager of the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors and the first
president of Saturn Corporation. Sanchez died unexpectedly of a
heart attack in 1985..
