WESLEYAN'S WORLD MUSIC CONCERT TO FEATURE
IRISH BAND
LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan University
will celebrate the Irish at its upcoming World Music Concert on
Tuesday, September 30.
The concert will feature “The Turfmen,”
who will perform traditional Irish folk music including ballads,
jigs, reels, and folk songs. The group has delighted audiences in
both the United States and Ireland for the past 22 years.
Peter Brennan is the only original member of the
band and hails from County Louth in Ireland. Other band members
include lead vocalist Tom Riley, the Douglas County public defender,
and his son, Brendan; Terry Keefe and John Hodgson.
The concert is free and open to the public and will
begin at 7:30 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium, located at 50th
Street and Huntington Avenue.
