NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES NEW DEGREE PROGRAM IN OMAHA

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska Wesleyan University is coming to Omaha.

Wesleyan’s Advantage Program, a program for adult students offering courses leading to a degree in business, will open for classes on August 25 at its new Omaha location.

“We evaluated Nebraska Wesleyan University’s role within our state,” said Ted Hill, Director of Wesleyan Advantage and Associate Dean. “The quality of our business program can benefit the business community in Omaha and provide an alternative to current offerings.”

“We look forward to working with the adult student population and the corporate community in Omaha to ensure the needs of both groups are met,” he added.

Two programs will be available in Omaha — an undergraduate program in business administration and a graduate certificate in project management. Wesleyan also plans to offer a RN to BSN program in nursing. Hill said Wesleyan Advantage is unique to Omaha because it offers a liberal arts education component found in Wesleyan’s traditional undergraduate program.

“Our students will be immediately more effective in their current workplace,” he said. “We are committed to taking students into the program and helping them dramatically improve their skills. We will help the students grow and change for the better.”

Wesleyan first introduced Advantage to the Lincoln area last year. Hill said the program is growing and now offers five programs including bachelor’s degrees in nursing, social work/sociology, a certificate in forensic science, and the two business programs now offered in Omaha.

Wesleyan Advantage caters to adults by offering an accelerated format and allowing for flexibility with multiple start dates and course formats. Classes will be held once a week at Wesleyan’s Omaha location, 11815 M Street, Suite 100.

Nebraska Wesleyan will hold four informational sessions about its Omaha program on July 22, August 7, August 13, and August 21 at the Clarion Hotel, located at 4888 S. 118th Street in Omaha. The programs begin at 5:30 p.m..

Informational sessions about the Lincoln program will be held July 31, August 14, and August 20 at 5:30 p.m. at Nebraska Wesleyan University, located at 5000 St. Paul Ave.
