NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY
SWING CHOIR TO MAKE TOUR STOP
Lincoln, Neb.— The sounds of jazz will fill
the air when the Nebraska Wesleyan University "Touch of Class"
Swing Choir makes a nearby stop on its upcoming Midwest tour.
The tour begins March 18 in Quitman, Texas and will
continue for five days with additional stops in Mesquite, Texas;
Springdale, Ark., and Sabetha, Kansas. The tour concerts will feature
several jazz numbers including "How High the Moon," "Straighten
Up and Fly Right," "The Lady is a Tramp," and "Jazz
Gloria." Two spiritual pieces will be featured including "When
the Saints Go Marching In" and "Early in the Morning."
The concert will conclude with a set of songs from children’s
television.
"The entire program will be entertaining for
the whole family," said Boyd Bacon, Touch of Class Director.
Touch of Class was organized in 1975 as a major
performing ensemble with the Department of Music. Since its inception,
the group has toured extensively throughout the Midwest. Nebraska
Wesleyan University is a four-year liberal arts college located
in Lincoln, Nebraska.
