WESLEYAN PROFESSOR WINS THEATER FESTIVAL’S
HIGHEST HONOR
Lincoln, Neb.— A professor has been honored
with one of the highest awards bestowed by the Kennedy Center American
College Theatre Festival (KC-ACTF).
Theatre professor Jack Parkhurst was honored recently
with the Medallion Award, which honors those who have served the
KC-ACTF for a substantial time and with substantial contributions.
Packhurst has contributed to the organization since beginning his
teaching career. His contributions include serving as a responder
to help select theatrical shows for regional collegiate competitions,
judging scholarship performances and teaching theater workshops
on both the regional and national levels.
Parkhurst was presented the award at the Region
V Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival held in Cedar
Falls, Iowa on January 26. Parkhurst directed Nebraska Wesleyan’s
cast of True West, which was selected to perform at the regional
festival. |
