WESLEYAN INSTRUCTORS, ARTISTS TO BE FEATURED
IN UPCOMING FACULTY EXHIBITION
Lincoln, Neb.— ’s art faculty have invited
some of their favorite artists to join them in an upcoming exhibition.
Five artists and five Wesleyan art instructors will
be showcased in the Faculty Exhibition to be held January 24 –
February 21 at the Elder Gallery, located at 50th Street and Huntington
Avenue on the campus. A special opening reception will be held Friday,
February 7th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Featured artists include: Ron Dale of Oxford, Miss.,
who was invited by Wesleyan art instructor Lisa Lockman. Both Dale
and Lockman will exhibit sculptural ceramics. Artist Reiner Strasser
of Wiesbaden, Germany, will exhibit net art. Strasser was invited
by art instructor Starla Stensaas. Wesleyan instructor Susan Horn
invited artist Rob Friedman of Coral Springs, Fla., Horn will exhibit
altered digital prints and her guest will exhibit his photography.
Joplin, Mo. artist Jim Bray will exhibit mixed media paintings.
He was invited by art instructor Robert Schwieger who will exhibit
altered screen prints. Wesleyan instructor Elizabeth England has
invited Rachel Abrams of Brooklyn, NY who will showcase her altered
canvas paintings. England will exhibit paintings on paper.
Elder Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
