Nebraska Wesleyan Students To Spend Semester
Break Exploring World Religions
LINCOLN, Neb.—Four students will travel to
Toronto during their winter break to discover the traditions of
20 different faith communities.
"This experience will go beyond their textbooks
by offering a taste of what it means to understand these various
traditions," said Rita Lester, religion professor who is leading
the trip.
Students Jenn Ortegren of East Alton, Ill., and
Jennifer Yound, James Baldus and Jeff Clinger, all of Lincoln, will
leave January 4 for the "Encounter World Religions Program."
During their 15-day trip, students will visit temples, mosques,
churches and synagogues in Toronto and share in worship services
and discover traditions. Students will also attend classes at the
World Religions Centre.
Students will visit over 20 faith communities including
Sikhs, Hindus, Quakers, Jewish, Wiccan, Buddhists, Zoroastrians,
and Eastern Orthodox.
