Nebraska Wesleyan Forensics Team Places
23rd at National Tournament
Duncan, Myers Lead Squad to Highest Finish in
School History
Peoria, Ill. - The Nebraska Wesleyan University
forensics squad placed 23rd in the nation at the annual American
Forensic Association (AFA) National Individual Events Tournament
(NIET) held April 6-8, 2002 at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
Over 500 students from 96 colleges and universities competed at
the 25th annual NIET. This was Nebraska Wesleyans highest
finish ever at the tournament.
Junior Aaron Duncan (Lincoln, Neb.) finished 6th in Extemporaneous
Speaking and was a semifinalist in Impromptu Speaking. He also competed
in After Dinner Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, and Informative Speaking.
Sophomore Jennifer Myers (Geneva, Neb.) was a semifinalist
in Communication Analysis. She also competed in Informative Speaking.
Students competing at the NIET represent the top ten percent of
the nations collegiate speakers in their respective events.
