RN to BSN Application Process

RN to BSN Admission Prerequisites

  • Graduation from a state approved nursing program with a diploma or an associate degree in nursing
    • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above from previously attended schools of nursing, colleges, or universities
    • Provide an official transcript from the school of nursing and each college or university attended
  • Completed nursing prerequisite courses with a grade of C or above:
    • English Composition (3 credits)
    • Anatomy and Physiology (6-8 credits)*
    • Microbiology (3-4 credits)*
    • General Chemistry (3-4 credits)*
    • Introductory Psychology (3 credits)
    • General Sociology (3 credits)
      *One course must include a laboratory
  • An unencumbered active Nebraska, Iowa, or compact state nursing license with expiration date
  • Successful completion of background check

Application Process:

  • Complete the Wesleyan Advantage Online Application
  • If you are applying to the Lincoln program, submit completed packet of information including Nursing Application Form, Technical Standards Form, two Professional Reference Forms, and Release of Information Form

  • If you are applying to the Council Bluffs, Clarinda or Omaha program, submit completed packet of information including Nursing Application Form, Technical Standards Form, two Professional Reference Forms, Authorization for Release of Child Abuse Information Form, Authorization for Release of Dependent Adult Abuse Information Form, and Release of Information Form
    • Download packet: Omaha, Council Bluffs, Clarinda RN-BSN Nursing Program Application Packet (PDF)
  • Have all previously attended schools of nursing, colleges, and universities send official transcript(s) to the address below. Transcripts issued to students are not accepted.
  • Complete a personal interview with the nursing faculty.
