Master of Forensic Science
The Master of Forensic Science (MFS) degree prepares students to be leaders in the field of forensic science as law enforcement professionals, crime scene investigators or forensic laboratory specialists.
Students specialize in one of three program tracks:
- Behavioral sciences
- Biology and chemistry
- Investigative sciences
All tracks emphasize understanding the sciences employed in the rapidly changing field of forensics.
Courses are offered rotating weekends during the fall and spring semesters mainly on Friday evenings and Saturdays, allowing professionals to work full-time while they pursue an MFS. Most students take two and a half years to complete the degree. Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is $340 per credit hour.
The Forensic Science Program is located in Burt Hall South. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
