Senior Research

Many students fulfill their degree requirements by doing a major piece of research in an area of interest and producing a senior thesis.  Here are some titles of recent theses:

"Homemakers: From Women’s Magazines to the Feminine Mystique"

"Surviving on Tradition: Chiefs in Ghanaian Society"

"Fingered in Print: John Ellis and the murder of Debra Forycki"

"A Recipe for the Cold War: An Examination of American Life through Cookbooks, 1945-1960."

Internships

Students may also do an internship as part of fulfilling their degree program.  Here are some of the places where students have interned:

Nebraska State Historical Society

Nebraska State Historical Museum

The Strategic Air Command Museum

The Lincoln/Lancaster County Historic Preservation Office

The Durham Museum

The Stuhr Museum

The United State Holocaust Memorial Museum

(in addition to local institutions students may take advantage of Nebraska Wesleyan’s Capital Hill Internship Program to do an internship in the nation’s capital.)
