Welcome
Prospective teachers know the importance of being in the classroom—and not just the college classroom. For a successful future, they need hands-on experience throughout their entire college training. That’s why, from their very first semester, education majors at Nebraska Wesleyan University spend 20 to 25 hours each semester in classroom situations. In this setting, they apply the educational theories they have learned, gaining invaluable practical experience.
Accredited by the Nebraska State Department of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Department of Education prides itself in turning today’s students into tomorrow’s teachers. Education majors can feel comfortable discussing their goals and ambitions with any of the department’s faculty members as they pursue a rewarding career in education.
