Academic Scholarships and Grants

Nebraska Wesleyan University offers several scholarships based on academic achievement as determined by performance on the American College Testing (ACT) program, the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or high school class standing.  Test scores from the December (senior year) ACT or SAT are the latest considered when determining scholarship eligibility.

The following scholarships are automatically awarded to those undergraduates who meet the specific qualifications indicated.  Each recipient must maintain a specified grade point average (GPA) at Nebraska Wesleyan to retain the scholarship from year to year.

Board of Governors Scholar Award $10,000
An ACT of 32 or above or an SAT of 1410 or above is required.  To retain their scholarships, recipients must maintain a 3.25 GPA.

Wesleyan Scholar Award $9,000
An ACT composite score of 29-31 or SAT score of 1280-1400 is required.  Recipients must maintain a 3.00 GPA.

Fredstrom Scholarship $7,500
An ACT composite score of 27-28, or SAT score of 1200-1270, or graduation from an accredited high school in the top 10% of the class is required.  Recipients must maintain a 2.50 GPA.

President's Scholarship $6,000
An ACT composite score of 24-26, or SAT score of 1090-1190, or graduation from an accredited high school in the top 25% of the class is required.  Recipients must maintain a 2.50 GPA.

Recognition Scholarship $4,500

Athletic Training Grant
Once students are admitted and enrolled into the Athletic Training Education Program an Athletic Training Grant is available for all students.  The total funding available each academic year is $20,000 and the amount issued is dependent on how many students are currently enrolled in the program.  These funds are based on academics, not with athletics or the requirement to perform athletic training skills or services.

Other Scholarships, grants or loans are available and can be found at www.findoutNWU.com or by calling the financial aid office at 402-465-2212.  Any other questions about payment policy, or refund policy should be directed the business office (402-465-2119).
