Security Staff
Nebraska Wesleyan has employed a security
agency, Securitas, to provide security for students, faculty,
staff and facilities. Securitas staff are not police, and
therefore should not be initially contacted in the event of
a crime. Their purpose is to be the “"eyes”and
“ears" of campus, and to assist the Lincoln Police
Department.
Securitas staff are trained in crime prevention, fire prevention, safety, patrol techniques, first aid, and public relations. Each Securitas staff member also receives training on campus to ensure familiarity with the facilities and procedures.
Hours and Contact Information
Securitas staff are on duty from 4:30 pm to 7:00 am, Monday through Thursday, and 24 hours on the weekends. They may be reached during these times through the Securitas cellular phone (432.9238). During the business day, security matters should be brought to the attention of the Physical Plant (ext. 2323).
Campus Escort
Securitas officers can escort students, faculty and staff on campus between the hours of 4:30 pm and 7:00 am. Upon receiving a telephone request for an escort, the officer on duty will provide an escort as soon as he/she is available.
More information on Securitas and Nebraska Wesleyan security procedures is available from the Physical Plant.
