The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services in the Story Student Center increases campus awareness of culture, racism and bias. The office offers minority students and the entire student body mentoring, tutoring, scholarship resources and advising.
The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services:
- Advises student groups including MOSAIC (Meeting of Students Addressing Intercultural Concerns), Plains Pride (a GLBT support group) and the X-Clusive step dance team
- Assists the Student Support System and Women’s Resource Center
- Leads orientation sessions for students of color
- Helps to craft retention strategies for students of color
- Encourages students of color to study abroad
- Coordinates campus-wide multicultural activities and Multicultural Awards Reception
- Helps students of color plan for careers, internships and graduate school
- Maintains Multicultural Resource Library
