As a commuter student at Nebraska Wesleyan
University, you will make many of the same transitions to
college that students who live on campus do. Living off campus
presents a unique set of challenges as well. The following
questions and answers will help you become aware of the services
available to commuter students at NWU.
Where can I go when I am not in class?
- Weary Center
- Student Center lounge in lower level
- Smith-Curtis and Great Hall lounges located
in lower levels

Where can I study?
- Cochrane-Woods Library

Where can I store my stuff?
- Lockers are available in the walkway between
Olin Hall and Smith Curtis for free student use.
What if I have car trouble on campus?
Physical Plant/Securitis staff will assist
you if you have a vehicle emergency (flat tire or need a jump
start, for example).
Where do I park?
- Students park free in designated areas
on the Nebraska Wesleyan University campus.
Where can I eat?
- Hot meals or grab and go meals are available
in the dining hall located in the Student Center. Stop in
the Sodexo Office to purchase munch money for discount meals.
- Vending machines are located in the walkway
between Olin Hall and Smith-Curtis and other buildings throughout
campus.
- The Coffee House located in the lower
level of the Student Center features Starbucks® Coffee
and gourmet sandwiches and salads.
How can I meet other students on campus?
- Sign up for an intramural team. If you
do not have a team then you can sign up as a “"free
agent".” Fill out the form (can be picked up
at the Intramural Sports bulletin board across from the
Weary Center front desk) and place it in the team entry
folder. The intramural staff will work to place you on a
team.
- Read the all-campus email each Monday
to find out what is going on at NWU.
- Stay updated with the “"What's
Happening"”board in the Great Hall.
- Consider an on-campus job.
- Check out the Involvement Fair during
the first week of the fall semester.
What other services are available?
- Courtesy phones are available for student
use at the entrance to all campus buildings.
- Residence hall rooms may be rented on
a per-night basis for occasional use (exam periods or inclement
weather, for example). Contact Housing and Residence Life,
