Campus Life > Leadership Development
At Nebraska Wesleyan University, leadership
is defined as “"the ability to empower others to
achieve shared goals that promote the common good."”
Wesleyan believes that each student has leadership potential
to be discovered, developed, and celebrated. Through study,
practice, and experiences, students will be challenged and
supported to acquire knowledge, develop skills, and clarify
values in the pursuit of effective leadership. Nebraska Wesleyan
University has numerous involvement opportunities, which are

Leadership
Conference
The Thematic Leadership Conference is held each spring semester with the intent to educate student leaders with the skills they need to successfully empower others. This conference brings together leaders from across the Nebraska Wesleyan University campus as well as student leaders from other universities.
The Leadership Conference provides participants with effective tools for leadership including motivation, team building, networking, and inclusion. Leaders also learn techniques that will enable them to identify leadership styles that exist within their organization and to recognize and embrace cultural and group dynamic diversity.
The conference includes a keynote speaker presentation and break-out sessions. Students leave the conference with knowledge that will help them achieve their goals and the goals of others.
