Planning and Campus Event Registration
Program planning and registration is a valuable process that student organizations must complete before any event. If you have questions regarding a program or event, please contact the Office of Campus Activities and Greek Life on the upper level of the Student Center (ext. 2412).
By registering your events, your organization will receive:
- inclusion on the monthly programming calendar
for student organizations
- staff assistance with planning the event
(if requested)
- limited liability coverage dependent upon
the type of event being planned
Recognized student organizations or honoraries must register their events and meetings when any of the following conditions exist:
- the event is a regularly scheduled meeting
- money is exchanged and/or donations are
solicited
- insurance is needed (the activity is open
to the public and NWU or city buildings/grounds are used)
PLEASE NOTE: If additional insurance coverage is needed,
your organization may incur the cost of insurance
- special permits are necessary
- funds are solicited (any fundraising)
- the event is a field trip
- food is prepared or sold
- the event requires a contract from any
outside source, i.e. band, vendor, etc.
- space on campus is needed
- the event includes a raffle (raffles must
follow specific procedures as governed by Nebraska state
law)
- the event is co-sponsored with a commercial
or contract enterprise
Greek events open to the public should be registered when any of the following conditions exist:
- the event includes a raffle or funds are
solicited
- the event is co-sponsored with a commercial
or contract enterprise
- the event is held in or on NWU campus buildings/grounds
- the event involves a contract for goods
or services
- the event requires any special permits
Notification of Greek social events must be
made to the Student Life Office on the upper level of the
Story Student Center. All other events must be registered
in the Campus Activities and Greek Life office on the upper
level of the Student Center.
