United Methodists founded Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1887. The University has maintained its affiliation with the Nebraska Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church ever since.

NWU welcomes students, faculty and staff of all denominations and beliefs. Our religious life programming addresses the total range of students’ spiritual development.

Bible study groups and interfaith dialogues give students of multiple faiths additional options for fellowship and learning.

Global Service Learning also offers students the opportunity to act on their spiritual values.

Worship services

The University Ministries Office sponsors weekly ecumenical worship services on contemporary religious or social issues for the entire Nebraska Wesleyan community. Services are held in the chapel on the first floor of Old Main.
