Impact a Life - Become a Refugee Volunteer - Volunteers are needed to help in the resettlement process of refugees coming to Lincoln. Refugees often come here with their belongings in a couple bags and no knowledge or resources about their new home. You are their resource!
Volunteers are needed to provide a variety of services to these individuals. Volunteer responsibilities can range from setting-up their apartment before arrival, welcoming refugees as they get off the airplane and helping tutor them in the English language and basic computer skills. You can help them apply for social security cards and state IDs for employment purposes. You can help them find a job and transport them to medical appointments and interviews. You can also teach them the Lincoln bus system to help them become more independent
Potential volunteers must pass a criminal background screen and DMV check. Volunteers are needed any time during business hours of 9:00am-5:00pm Mondays-Thursdays and 9:00am-3:00pm Fridays
