Projects: 

Tax-Aid Counselor/Preparer: Computer-literate volunteers receive four days of free tax training and become IRS certified Counselors by passing the IRS exam. We provide laptops and easy-to-use software for electronic filing. Volunteers work at least 40 hours during the 10-week tax season. It's a great way to learn new skills, be involved in your community and help people in need one-on-one at tax sites. Sun-Thur variety of times

Preferred qualifications: 
Computer literacy, some experience doing taxes

Feb- April 15
Minimum/maximum number of volunteers: 
40 for Lincoln
Hours/days per week: 
About 4 hours per shift. Shifts (at various locations) Sun, Mon, Tu, Wed, Th: One shift Tue 5-8 pm
Minimum/maximum hours per week: 
Minimum - 4 hours. Maximum - 20 hours
Training orientation: 
classroom training first full week in December. Take-home IRS exam for certification
